On Losing Kobe Bryant

Today, we are mourning the loss of the legendary Kobe Bryant and gutted by the news that his 13 year old daughter Gianna Bryant died today as well.

This episode goes beyond the reminder of hugging our kids tight. It will challenge you to live your days with intention.

With this loss, our hearts go to his wife and her 3 daughters on a deep way. And as a mother, it is unbearable to think about losing you husband and daughter at once.

My heart is sad for my niece, who goes to school with Gianna and had been friends with her for years— and how she will navigate this loss of her young friend.

Like most people have shared on social media today, the love of the game was ignited by Kobe. I remember missing out on the Lake Show in the 80’s and only started watching Kobe in the early days with D Fish and being in graduate school and just glued the TV that was on a cart in my apartment. I was so drawn to his magnetic finesse and even if I had finals, I’d go to the bar and watch . It was around 1999 when I found basketball and I’d clip out articles and read his stats and lucky enough to go to a few Laker games in my life.

I took the podcast as a way to challenge any of you moms on what your days are looking like right now. It is a quick 6 minute episode and if you are struggling or if you are in pain or if you are overwhelmed— this one is for you.
